Enjoy the nature sounds from the hammock, and relax. Have breakfast or lunch in the nature. Don’t be afraid, this is not a remote place. Walking distance is reasonable to get in and off the boats. Tuc tucs are always willing to help you even if it is too early or late. Everyone is really kind! The house is simply lovely. We enjoyed staying there almost a full day even though there is so much to do! Umberto gave us a map and it was helpful. This is a unique experience. The house is cozy and clean. The space Umberto created is simply amazing! I really loved everything, the house has a unique story! Umberto is super friendly and helpful. He made us feel welcomed from the beginning to end. Pleasant stay!

Er hat uns erst in Flores abgeholt und nach San Miguel gelotst, dann ein Lancha (kleine Fähre) organisiert damit wir die Sunrise-Tour nach Tikal... read more machen konnten, er hat uns mit auf ein Fest in der Stadt begleitet. Es macht Spaß mit ihm Zeit zu verbringen.
Der Container war wirklich wunderschön und man merkt, wie viel Mühe Umberto in ihn gesteckt hat.
Einzig negativer Punkt, für den Umberto allerdings nichts kann: wir konnten die Sunrise Tour am Ende nicht wahrnehmen, weil der Lancha-Fahrer wegen eines Motorproblems nicht kam, was für uns sehr ärgerlich war. Aber auch hier hat uns Umberto dann sehr rührig um uns gekümmert und geholfen, eine Lösung zu finden. (Anmerkung: nur wichtig, falls ihr vor habt sehr frühmorgens wieder nach Flores zu kommen. Ab 5 am fahren die normalen Lanchas wieder) Philipp

You have to take a boat from Flores and walk a little bit to reach the house but the neighborhood is relaxed and authentic - quite different than Flores. Umberto was also a great host - providing all the perfect little touches that make you feel at home, as well as tons of information and recommendations about the local area. He arranged my tours to Tikal and Yaxhá,... read more whipped up a couple excellent breakfasts, awesome coffee, and we even had a barbecue one of the nights I stayed.
Being a short lancha ride across the water from Flores adds a little adventure, but is easy to do and means the place is private - jungle sounds included. The shipping container is Umberto’s home when he doesn’t have a guest, so he asks us to treat it as we would our own home; completely reasonable. I would 100% recommend, and hope to be able to come back again. Erik

After a short ride with... read more the lancha and a tuk tuk we arrived at his place in San Miguel which is just awesome. You can see the sun rising in the morning and enjoy the view over the lake. His Container is super well equipped, because it usually is his home which you are living in. Additionally Umberto gave us some very helpful tips and also arranged the Tikal Tour for us.
